During pre-approval, we recommend applying for the maximum amount you may need, as the financing amount can always be adjusted down to match the final project estimate. For example, if you apply for $8,000 and your project totals $7,500, the financing will be adjusted to $7,500 before final documents are signed. However, if you apply for $7,000 and the final project estimate is $7,500, we cannot increase the approved amount.
